I am mainly self-taught, although I attend workshops by artists I admire as you never stop learning. I have drawn and painted all of my life.
I work in mostly in Pastels and mainly do pet portraits from photos and wildlife paintings. And I am often seen with my camera at zoos and wildlife parks.
Recently I went to a workshop by Vic Bearcroft at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust in Reading, where I did a painting of a Wolf in pastels, and also went into the compound with three Wolves, Torak and his ladies Mosi and Mai.
I went in to get close to and take photos of these wonderful animals. And to have the amazing feeling of stroking a Wolf.
Although I love the texture of pastels and the fact that you don’t have to wait for them to dry, I also use watercolours in line and wash and have done some paintings of local areas in this medium.
