Diana Verboom
I am a photographer inspired by patterns and shapes.
I think of myself as a collector of images, rather than a creator of them.
I like to look at things close up and from unusual angles, so my images are often abstract, though I like them to be recognisable.
Initially I concentrated on plants, especially exotics, and produced a range of greetings cards which sold through Kew Gardens, The RHS and The Eden Project, among others.
I then moved out of gardens and into boatyards and my pictures became increasingly abstract and painterly.
I joined Taking Space in 2006 and have thoroughly enjoy the involvement and opportunities for exhibiting that come with being a member of the group.
