Kate Penn
Contemporary artist Kate Penn trained at Falmouth college of art in the mid-90’s where she specialised in print-making and learned to make paper for use in her work. In 1997, she won a blue ribbon at the 3 Spires Art Exhibition in Truro and a year later she appeared on BBC television demonstrating the production of hemp paper. Since then she has exhibited widely throughout Cornwall having had many one person shows. During this time she worked mainly from her own workshop in St. Agnes.
Her work has now been collected worldwide in places such as Europe, Japan and Australia. She has now developed her own individual style specialising in constructionist art in which she is greatly influenced by Cornwall’s prehistoric and industrial past.
