Sara Ross
I moved from London, where I worked as a sculptor and painter in the film industry, to Cornwall 4 years ago to concentrate on my own creative work. Living amongst the rugged sculptural landscapes of Cornwall and witnessing some of the most breathtaking sunsets here, has inspired me to create dream like paintings and sculptures. I have also recently started to create surreal dream like sets that represent human emotions and fears of the unknown.
I Iove to capture movement within the human figure and animals in clay, by studying the human form and the wildlife that surrounds me. I currently am also creating sculptural portraits for commissions capturing personality and character. I Iove to experiment with different patterns, finishes and affects to compliment the work.
I have recently been casting in Marble powders and bronze with limited editions. I generally love the art of making and to communicate what I feel and see around me through paintings and sculpture. Artists such as Salvador Dali, Ron Mueck and Patricia Paccinni inspire me.
